- What inspired you to join the Connect Midwest Committee?
I’ve been working on bistate broadband infrastructure and Affordable Connectivity Program initiatives since the pandemic alongside the Illinois Department of Broadband and National Digital Inclusion Alliance. Through this work, I found a knack for connecting dots, empowering colleagues, and mentoring aspiring tech professionals.
Our region is brimming with underserved and untapped communities without proper resources and representation.
I have focused my work in neighborhoods that are most in need. With successful digital transformation projects in Peoria (IL), Madison (IL), East Saint Louis (IL), Fairmont City (IL), St. Louis (MO), and Cool Valley (MO), I feel the need to leverage my experience and connections to reach additional neighbors in need.
Working on the ground level of our regions broadband and digital skills needs- for the past few years- I want change. We need change.
- What’s your focus or expertise in digital equity?
I primarily specialize in IT Program Management and Adoption within Underserved Communities. Majority of my work was leading the Central-Southwestern Illinois EBB/ACP Benefit program and regional COVID-19 Relief Device Distribution and Training.
- What outcomes would you like to see for the St. Louis Metro?
I would love to see a more collaborative network moving forward with the best interest of the bi-state, leveraging knowledge and best practices of both sides of the Mississippi.
