TechSTL App Onboarding FAQ

Use this FAQ for quick answers to common TechSTL App onboarding questions.

Do I need an organization membership to use the TechSTL App?

No. An individual membership is enough if you want to access community benefits, events, perks, and resources. You only need an organization membership if you want to create and manage an organization profile in the directory.

What is the difference between services and resources?

Services are professional or fee-based offerings. Both for-profit and nonprofit organizations can list services.

Resources are free or low-cost programs, tools, and assistance. Only nonprofit organizations can list resources. If your for-profit organization offers a free resource and you would like us to consider including it, contact Emily@techstl.com with details.

Can my organization be listed in more than one directory?

Yes. Select every directory that accurately reflects your work. For example, a nonprofit digital equity provider may belong in the TechSTL Directory, Connect Midwest Directory, and Google & Coursera Directory.

I do not see a Claim button on my organization profile. What should I do?

If there is no Claim button, the profile is likely already managed by someone else or your account does not yet have an organization membership. Contact TechSTL at info@techstl.com and we can help transfer or share access.

Do I need to complete both Google applications for the scholarship program?

Yes. The Grow with Google Partner Application and the Google Nonprofit Scholarship License Application are separate. Complete both before registering your organization in the TechSTL App.

Is the StartupSTL Survey required for everyone?

No. The StartupSTL Survey is required only for nonprofit organizations and nonprofit resource providers that want to be considered for inclusion on the StartupSTL ecosystem map.

Can I access TechSTL on my phone?

Yes. Download the TechSTL app at techstl.com/app. You can manage your profile, browse directories, and participate in the community from your mobile device.
